RTL Nieuws still leader, AD.nl right behind

The Dutch television news service RTL Nieuws is still in leading position with over 1.9 million interactions, but unlike the last few months, AD.nl is right behind with an increase of 38,7% compared to June. The Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS), on the other hand, managed to enter the ranking at the very strong 3rd position with 1.5 million interactions in July.

The greatest success of July within the top performing group was achieved by 3FM, a popular pop/rock radio station in the Netherlands. The online sites of 3FM lifted up its performance by 11 ranks with an increase of over 80 %. But unfortunately, the main reason for the good performance was a video about a very sad event, namely the death of a young boy with cancer.

A boy called Tijn

The sad news about a boy called Tijn, who died of cancer at the young age of 6, shocked the whole Netherlands. All Top 3 posts of the month addressed that topic. The post which drew most attention was Lieve Tijn by NRC, followed by 3FM with the video Dag lieve Tijn.

 

Important note: The website Omroep Brabant couldn’t be considered in the ranking due to a data problem with Facebook.
