With another year over, it’s time once again for the Social Media Awards—when we examine the bigger picture and analyze social media data throughout 2019.  These are the most successful automotive brands in the world over the span of 12 months.

To determine the most successful auto brands as well as the year’s top posts, we consider all categories including articles, pictures and videos. Total interactions are measured across the platforms of Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.

Let’s take a look.

2019’s most successful global Automotive Brands:

German Startups Ranking

In 2019, Mercedes-Benz dominated the rest of the international auto industry on social media: the automotive brand pulled in nearly 446 million interactions on social media. BMW ranked 2nd place with just shy of 300 million total interactions, followed by Porsche who achieved more than 128.3 million total interactions in 3rd place.

#1: Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz has 25.3 million followers on Instagram, over 21 million fans on Facebook, 3.4 million followers on Twitter and 1.18 million subscribers on YouTube. The vast majority of their social media engagement happened on Instagram, with more than 425.7 million interactions gained in 2019.

#2: BMW

BMW has a total of more than 20.3 million Facebook fans, 25.7 million followers on Instagram, 2 million Twitter followers, and over 1 million subscribers on YouTube. Instagram is their best social platform, earning over 275.4 million IG interactions compared to their next-best platform: Facebook – 22.7 million.

#3: Porsche

A total of nearly 11.7 million Facebook fans follow Porsche, as well as 19.9 million Instagram followers, 1.8 million Twitter followers and 847 thousand YouTube subscribers. Instagram is their most successful social media platform, as the startup pulled in more than 124.2 million IG interactions in 2019.
